After a successful hunt, you deserve a dish as unforgettable as your time in the field. That’s why I’m sharing my go-to recipe for venison chili — a hunter’s feast that celebrates the natural taste of wild game.
This isn’t your average chili recipe. We’re taking a stand against beans and veggies, because, let’s face it — we’re here for the meat and only the meat. Instead, we’re doubling down on flavor with a few key twists.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs. ground venison (or beef)
- 6 strips of bacon
- 1 onion, diced with your go-to culinary knife
- A generous shake of Tacticalories Leatherhead Old School Chili Seasoning Mix
- 2 4 oz. cans of tomato sauce
- 2 cups of beef broth
- 2 Tbsp. of hot honey
Directions
Sauté the bacon and onion in your pot. This builds a flavor foundation that’ll make your chili unforgettable.
Drain the oil, then brown the venison in the same pot.
Once the venison is browned, season liberally with Tacticalories Leatherhead Chili seasoning. Don’t be shy — the spoils of your hunt deserve bold flavor.
Mix in the tomato sauce and beef broth to create a rich base.
Stir in that hot honey. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, and it’ll take your chili to the next level.
Blend everything with an immersion blender, if you have one. This step creates a smooth chili that’ll have you coming back for seconds (and thirds).
